As a member of the Pilots Mutual Benefit Fund if you have no company contribution then you will receive an account every six months - on 1st April and 1st October so before either of these dates is a good time for you to assess your level of cover and, if necessary, apply for an increase in cover. If you belong to a contributing company then then your account for Additional Cover and extra Cover is prepared by our office staff for the 1st of October so before this date is a good time for you to assess your level of cover and, if necessary, apply for an increase in cover. Increases in cover usually require an application, however, this is dependant on your employment contract and it is advisable to contact the MBF Office to discuss your options.. All such increases must be approved by the Trustees (usually done at a meeting held in alternating months).
Life Insurance and General Disability Insurance If you have GDI cover through NZALPA you should review this cover annually in October. If you have Life Insurance through NZALPA this should be reviewed in November
